In very simple terms - Feathers JS is built on top of Express JS, which is a node.js framework. In this series, we are going to play with Feathers JS and see how we can so easily make REST APIs in just minutes of our time.

This tutorial is about creating a new Feathers JS app.

Make sure you have installed Feathers JS on your system.

To create our Feathers JS app we'll use the command "feathers generate app".

This command will generate all the necessary files for our app and we can customize these files according to our requirements later on.

If we choose yes for authentication, it automatically creates a new service (to be discussed later in the series) named "users" and I have used sequelize because I will be creating a connection with MySQL later on in the series.

So our app is created.
